Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has finally responded to the Kylian Mabppe exit rumours, saying that he wants the French superstar to continue with the capital club, adding that he is a key part of the project.
Over the past couple of days, a lot has been said about Mbappe’s future, including the fact that the forward has an agreement in place with Real Madrid over a free transfer in the summer.
As it turns out, it took an official word from his representatives to deny the claim, saying that no type of influence or deadline can affect their client’s decision.
“There is no agreement about Kylian’s future, especially as there are no discussions underway about it. No type of influence could dictate the timing of Kylian’s discussions, reflections or decisions,” said the forward’s entourage.
It’s no secret that PSG are in a very difficult situation with regards to Mbappe. The World Cup winner ends his ongoing deal at the end of the season and it seems he has no interest in renewing his contract.
As for Real Madrid, they continue to monitor his situation closely and while a free transfer in the summer looks like a tempting deal, they want him to commit much earlier, something that the forward is not willing to do.
Now, reacting to the entire scenario, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has finally decided to break his silence, saying that he wants his star forward to stay in the French capital.
“I want Kylian Mbappe to stay at PSG. He’s the best player in the world and the best club for him is PSG,” said the club president as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“He’s key for our project,” he added.
As of today, Real Madrid have not made any offer for Mbappe and as reported before, their mind seems to be dwindling mostly because they are also tempted by the prospect of signing Erling Haaland from Manchester City.
