The 2024 Lagos Boat Regatta, themed “Our Water, Our Heritage, Our Life,” was a vibrant celebration of culture, heritage, and tourism on Lagos’s iconic waterways. Held today, the event marked a significant step in the revival and promotion of Lagos’s rich maritime traditions.
This year’s regatta symbolized the essence of Lagos, blending cultural pride with a vision for sustainable tourism. With one-third of the state surrounded by water, the waterways offer more than just a transportation network—they serve as a vital ecosystem and a dynamic avenue for tourism development.
Participants from Lagos’s five divisions showcased an impressive array of boats and watercraft, celebrating the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the region. The colorful displays, music, and cultural performances brought communities together in an atmosphere of joy and unity.
