Meanwhile, main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) had earlier raised alarm that the ruling PDP and BASIEC would allegedly rig the election in favour of the PDP.

The chairmen–elect are to be sworn-in on Sunday, August 18 as announced by the state government in a press release issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.

The council election was marred by voter apathy and late arrival of materials in most polling units.
